At Aparici, we are delighted to share our participation in one of the most inspiring projects of the year: the renovation of the Kimpton Los Monteros Hotel in Marbella, carried out by the El Equipo Creativo studio. This project is a true Mediterranean fantasy that combines local references, 1970s colours and sinuous shapes to reinterpret the history and spirit of one of the most iconic cities on the Costa del Sol.

The hotel lobby, the heart of the guest welcome, becomes a space where art, sophistication and Mediterranean warmth coexist harmoniously. In this context, our Danube Otto tiles find their ideal place. Part of the Danube collection, these tiles are a modern reinterpretation of classic hydraulic tiles: on a neutral cream background, they feature geometric motifs that bring dynamism and personality to the space, while their warm palette moves away from traditional cool tones, blending perfectly with the pastel and earthy colours that characterise the interior. Their 60x60 cm format and variety of six different motifs allow for the creation of attractive and balanced visual compositions that accompany the design narrative without overwhelming it.

The Kimpton Los Monteros project is inspired by Marbella in the 1960s and 1970s, a period marked by glamour, sophisticated social life and the influence of modern Spanish art. The El Equipo Creativo studio translates this essence into the hotel's interior through a combination of curved shapes, geometric latticework, natural wood furniture and sculptural pieces. Mediterranean light, lush vegetation and Picasso-inspired murals complete the experience, creating a lobby that is at once welcoming, artistic and elegant.

In this setting, Danube Otto tiles not only serve an aesthetic purpose, but also reinforce the narrative of the space. Their texture and geometric design complement the organically shaped furniture and sculptural elements in the hall, creating a dialogue between tradition and modernity. The warmth provided by the tiles makes the hall a place that invites you to linger, observe and enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere from the moment you step inside.

In addition to the lobby, the project includes other iconic spaces such as the Azul Bar, the lounges and the library, where the 1970s style and reinterpretation of Andalusian art remain constant. Every detail has been designed to allow visitors to experience the history and identity of Marbella, but from a contemporary and fresh perspective. In this context, the presence of Danube Otto tiles in the lobby is an example of how a traditional material such as hydraulic tiles can be adapted to modern projects without losing its essence.
For Aparici, being part of projects like this is a reminder of the importance of ceramic tiles as a transformative element in any space. Our Danube Otto tiles demonstrate that ceramics not only decorate, but also add character, warmth and a timeless style that blends in with any design narrative.
